Timur Bilyalov − the best goaltender of the season in the KHL

Ak Bars goalkeeper Timur Bilyalov is declared as the best goalkeeper of the season in the KHL − the League announced the winners of individual awards according to the results of the championship.

Last season, Timur Bilyalov played 36 games for Ak Bars and won 23 victories with 94.8% of reflected shots and a reliability coefficient of 1.35. Also, the goalkeeper of the Kazan club set a new record of the Russian Championships for the duration of a dry series − 316 minutes and 9 seconds. Twice Bilyalov was recognized as the goaltender of the week in the KHL, once as the goaltender of the month. In addition, the goalkeeper took part in the KHL all-star Game for the first time in his career last season.

Timur Bilyalov, the goaltender of Ak Bars:

− Of course, it is a great honor for me to receive the award of the best goaltender of the season in the KHL. But I believe that this is not only my reward – it is the reward of the whole team. We had a good season together, won the Eastern conference, and set a record for the longest dry series in the Russian Championships. Yes, technically it belongs to me, but in fact it was achieved by the whole team – the guys helped me, caught a lot of shots on themselves, stopped many of the opponent's attacks on the far approaches to our goal. There were also unsuccessful matches that only harden and help you gain experience for future victories. It is a pity that the season ended so early, but everyone understood that people's health should always be at the first place. I am sure that the situation will normalize soon, and we will return to the ice again to please the fans with our game and show beautiful hockey.
