Ak Bars will be the first in the KHL with a recycled plastic uniform. This is an ecological project of the TATNEFT which is aimed at reducing environmental pollution.
The new Ak Bars uniform is made in black and emphasizes the close relationship with the General sponsor – the Tatneft oil company. All uniforms are made from recycled plastic bottles. Each jersey shows the exact number of bottles needed to create it is from 36 to 46. All application is made by sublimation printing.
The process of recycling bottles into a hockey uniform takes place in 6 stages: color separation, cleaning, shredding plastic into granules, remelting, stretching the threads and fabric making.
Nail Maganov, General Director of the TATNEFT company:
– We are glad that Ak Bars start using recycled materials in Russian hockey. Hope it will become a good trend for our sport and together we will be able to influence the state of the environment and instill a careful attitude. Ecology has always been and remains a priority of the company.
Ak Bars will play in an alternative recycled plastic uniform on weekends.
First game Ak Bars will play in a new black jersey against Neftekhimik on November 14. Start at 5:00 pm. The game will be dedicated to the oil industry of the Republic of Tatarstan.
