Born on 15 September 1959, Sergey Abramov is an Ak Bars trainee, a Master of Sports, an Honoured Coach of Russia.
As a goaltender he played for SKA (Kuibyshe), Neftyanik (Leninogorsk), Sputnik (Almetyevsk), SK Uritsky/Itil/Ak Bars (Kazan).
During his playing career, he became the Champion of Russia (1998), the best goaltender of Russian Superleague (1994, 1995).
Abramov has been coaching since 1999, always in Ak Bars.
Coaching achievements: four-time champion of Russia (2006, 2009, 2010, 2018), three-time KHL Champion and three-time winner of Gagarin Cup (2009, 2010, 2018), four-time silver and bronze medalist of Russian championships, winner of European Champions Cup and Continental Cup.
