Born on 6 January 1973 in Tolyatti, Pavel Zubov was a trainee of Lada hockey club.
As a defenseman, he played for Lada (Tolyatti), CSK VVS (Samara), Neftekhimik (Nizhnekamsk), Tupelo T-Rex (Tupelo, USA), Energiya (Kemerovo), Neftyanik (Almetyevsk), Metallurg (Zhlobin, Belarus), Zauralye (Kurgan), Yermak (Angarsk).
During his playing career, he became the two-time Champion of Russia (1994, 1996).
Zubov has been coaching since 2009. He worked as a coach for Metallurg (Zhlobin), Sibir (Novosibirsk), Lokomotiv (Yaroslavl), and the head coach for Metallurg (Zhlobin), Sibir (Novosibirsk).
Coaching achievements: Champion of Belarus (2014).
